Feeling Stuck In Your Head and Heart
Jun 14, 2025
Have you ever had one of those days — or maybe weeks — where your mind is racing but your heart just feels... heavy?
You’re overthinking everything.
You question your past decisions.
You don’t know where to start.
And deep down, you feel like you’re standing still while the rest of the world is moving forward.
If you’re in this place right now, I want you to know something:
You’re not broken. You’re just in the middle.
Whether you’re recovering from heartbreak, divorce, a toxic relationship, or simply trying to rebuild after life knocked the wind out of you — feeling stuck is not a sign of failure. It’s a signal. A quiet invitation to pause, go inward, and reconnect with your truth.
Let’s talk about what’s really going on — and what to do when your head and heart feel out of sync.
Why You’re Feeling Stuck
Feeling stuck isn’t just about not knowing what to do. It’s often about feeling disconnected — from your purpose, your confidence, and even from your emotions.
Maybe your heart is still grieving a loss.
Maybe your mind is protecting you by overthinking every move.
Maybe you’re afraid to trust yourself again.
And maybe… no one around you really gets it. Not the way you need them to.
When You’ve Been Through It… Everything Feels Harder
Loss, divorce, betrayal — they don’t just leave cracks in your heart.
They shake up your identity.
They make you question your worth.
They make moving forward feel like trying to walk through mud.
So if you’ve been asking yourself things like:
-
“What’s wrong with me?”
-
“Why can’t I move on like everyone else?”
-
“What’s my next step?”
Please hear this: Nothing is wrong with you.
You’re not behind. You’re not lazy.
You’re healing. And healing is a sacred, non-linear journey.
What To Do When You’re Stuck
Here’s what I recommend when you feel like you’re swirling in your head and locked out of your heart:
1. Pause Without Pressure
You don’t need to figure it all out today.
Allow yourself to pause without guilt. Turn down the noise. Get still.
Journal prompt: What do I need most in this moment — not to fix me, but to support me?
2. Move Your Body, Gently
When emotions feel stuck, movement helps release them.
Try stretching. Walking in nature. Dancing in your kitchen.
Your body will thank you.
3. Let Your Heart Speak
Instead of pushing your feelings away, give them a voice.
Write a letter to your heartbreak. Cry if you need to.
You don’t need to be strong every moment. You need to be real.
4. Reconnect With Your Power
Stuckness often comes from forgetting who we are.
Think of a time you were brave. Confident. Radiant.
Let that version of you remind you — she still lives inside you.
5. Ask for Soulful Support
You’re not meant to do this alone.
Find safe spaces to talk, cry, rebuild, and rise. Whether it’s a therapist, coach, or sister circle — you deserve support that sees the real you.
You’re Allowed to Begin Again
There is no deadline on healing.
There is no perfect timeline for your comeback.
There is only this moment — the one where you get to choose grace over pressure.
Self-love over shame. Trust over fear.
You may not know the exact next step… but you do know this:
You’re ready to stop pretending you’re okay when you’re not.
And that’s the most powerful step you can take.
